interest in converting my svx to manual
Hi, i am the owner of a 1994 subaru svx ls-l. i bought this car and love it. but recently, the transmission went out on it due to the previous owner. so i figured that since it was out and i have heard about people converting the svx to a manual transmission. i started reading up on doing this and with the help of a shop, i can do this. i was wondering what other people used for the manual transmission. i want this to go as smooth as possible. i was wondering what transmission is the most compatible with the subaru svx. so if anybody can help me i would be appreciated.

The '02-'05 WRX 5mt will be your best bet since there is no rear diff work needed.
If expense is not an issue, go with an STi 6mt since you can use the rear diff and axles from it aswell. This will also be the tranny you want if you plan to make big power later on. Dustin

If you want to play it safe use a late 04 or 05 trans for the most reliability and ease of installation. Unless the 02- is a reman.
