LS-L or LSi?
How do i tell if my '92 svx is a Ls-l or lsi? I need to order new brake calibers and i need to know. I dont have an official title yet b/c i bought it 2 weeks ago and its in the mail. I had a carfax for it when i bought it off ebay but i lost the print out of it, so i dont know what it said.
Is there a way to check if its an LS-L or LSi without the paper work?

Ls-l
It is an LS-L. There were no LSi's in 92. But really does not make any difference. They would fit--they are the same as are most parts.

There were two models of SVX in '92, the LS and the LS-L. The easy way to tell them apart: if you have leather seats a sunroof and a factory CD player, you have an LS-L. If you have seats with the Ecsane inserts, no CD and no sunroof, you have an LS. There are a few other differences, like speed-sensitive vs RPM-sensitive power steering. LS-L's seem to be more common in '92's - I've only seen 2 LS's and one was at the L.A. Auto Show
Whether it's an LS or LS-L doesn't matter where the brake calipers are concerned: both cars have exactly the same brakes.

Ok i have an Ls-L.
According to the autozone guy they are differnet numbers on the computer which means they are different parts even if its just a slight difference. Thanks for the help.

I don't know about AutoZone parts, but I assure you that the Subaru parts are the same for both models.

Don't go to Autozone cause they can not ever get the part right the first time I go in usually the third or fourth try I start *****ing to managers and they finally get it right.

The front calipers are the same for all years, all models. The rears are different for 2WD models, but that's it.
How much does AutoZone want for their rebuilt caliper? The Subaru rebuilt caliper is $139.95 and is very well built. I just had one installed recently. If AutoZones isn't that much cheaper I'd go with Subaru. Dave

The guy i ordered it thru is actually a personal friend and our auto zone is GREAT. My family is actually one of thier biggest customers (small town and we cutomize cars on the side) we dont have problems with them.
They're rebuilds and only cost me $52 bucks. Not too bad for subaru parts. They're for the rear passanger side.
