OT: Chevy Blazer coolant leak

A friend of mine has a '97 Chevy Blazer with 90k miles on it. He told me it was leaking coolant, so I said I'd take a look.

It doesn't leak coolant all the time, just during long trips it seems. So driving around town here it stays dry. Obviously that makes finding the leak difficult.

My best guess, following the places I find coolant, is that the water pump is leaking.

Does anybody have experience with these cars? I doubt I'll have much of a problem replacing this pump, but I'd like to hear first from somebody who knows these cars better. Maybe it's something more simple than the pump. Maybe there are some things to watch out for when doing the job. I don't know. You're the expert - you tell me.
