They are decent in snow 4-6". However, it does not snow much here as it used too! I did make it over Vail pass in a blizzard with no problems! Handled extremely well! Although I never experienced other tires on my car other than the AVS dB’s, I'm willing to bet you can find someone in here that made this switch from other brands to the Yoko Avs. Anyone?

$90!!!!!!!!!!!!! AA TRACTION! 30K TREADWEAR! ALL SEASON PERFORMANCE! LOOK SWEET! GO FAST! NO TREAD NOISE!

Maybe that'll stir things up.

So you like these tires?
It certainly is a deal at $90.

I was considering Hakkapaelitas.

Sorry Rob. That's my next tire. I've been running A540s for 5 years, 50k now. Very happy with them although they do tend to get some road noise but nothing that isn't livable. Unfortunately they were discontinued a couple years ago, replaced by the 550s. I actually paid more for my last 540s then I would've to get the 550s but didn't want to be the test mule. One bad thing about the 540s is I took a 1/2 inch of the front outside corners when I autoxed it. Just hoping it'll still pass inspection like that as tires right now are not an option as the T-belt and stuff has gotta happen when she gets parked for the nasty stuff this fall.

Hello All!

I now have my Firestone Firehawks mounted ( I started this thread, after all), and they are great! Run quieter than the old Bridgestones, throw water out the side just as advertised, cornering grip is excellent, and so far - so good. Yoko fans will still argue their case, but these tires have lived up to the reviews
so far. The cornering grip exceeds my expectaions, because the tread wear factor of 320 would indicate a harder compound.

I'll report back after 10K miles or so.

I actually had these tires on my last SVX (95) and they were amazing. They bite like crazy and do not let go.
I paid over $1000 for them a few years ago.
It looks like you got a great deal on them.
Have fun.
