How well was this car designed?

It is a credit to the designers of engine, gearing and body shape, to get a 3.3 lt NA engine, to pull maximun power revs, on the super high gearing that it has.
Just to consider the fact that the engine has the torque to pull top gear from 1500 rpm to 5600 rpm, or 70k/h to 270k/h, is amazing.
The car was designed as a high speed Grand Tourer, and they certainly achived their objective.

Harvey.

This thread is over a year old. The pictures likely don't exist anymore.

I remember mentioning way back in this thread a long time ago, that possibly this high top speed was being aided by cold air for the intake, as Sonny's top speed run is also from a "cool" country.

The water temp gauge in that picture is showing the needle a good bit below horizontal. Both my SVXs park the needle dead horizontal, and it never moves.

I'm aware that the water temp is not necessarily an indicator of outside air temps, but still, it's interesting to ponder.

Mine usually sits just below halfway, about the same as that picture.

Mine sits just a tiny bit higher than the pic.

It is probably just variation in the natural spread of the water temp gauges then.
