Half shaft removal.

yester day my friend and I was tring to remove the driver side half shaft, we took the pin out, hub bolt off, and the top strut bolt off, and losened the lower one, but still the half shaft dident have enoungh room to slide out. I took off some half shafts on 1 gen legacys and they cam out pretty easy after you tilted the hub. Do you just have to try really hard, or is there a better way to take off the half shaft.
