Uhm, Danielle, let me apologize for these guys taking this thread off topic. They should never do that. They shall be severely repremanded, because, taking a thread off topic is MY JOB!!

Welcome to the Network, Danielle, you'll like it here. Keep the car and live a little. Shop around for the best coverage and price. Here in Kentucky, the SVX is just another 6 Cylinder Sedan, so, rates are very reasonable.

I'll second what Randy said
I just pay $23 a month for the lowest coverage available.
Of course if I wrap it around a tree....It'll be a yard ornament

Or you will Huck

Welcome to the Network Danielle. I pay about $40 a month for full coverage with a $500 deductible from Mutual Service Insurance.

If the drivers were anything like my younger stepson, the last words heard immediately prior to sounds of bending metal and breaking glass were "Here, hold my beer and watch this!"

Oops, there I go, veering off-topic. Sorry, Randy!

Welcome, Danielle, you'll enjoy it here most of the time.

Has everybody forgotten than Geico used to GIVE radar guns to police agencies so that rates would be driven up???

Listing your SVX for the lowest mileage is good advice but only if it is true. If not, the insurance company has the right to refuse payment on any claim citing fraud on the application.

Another option is marriage and children but that usually winds up costing more than any isurance premium.

I think we're always polite to new people. It's only after they've been here a while and had the opportunity to offend everyone that the knives come out.

Some people on this forum NEVER reach that point. Others seem to leap to it on their first thread.

Yes, the low mileage must be legit (and it is...). Once a week to work and weekends keeps the mileage under 10k/year without much effort...

welcome to the club Danielle, there is a big meet every year in Reading PA, come join us---under Reading Forums

don't mind little Ca$h, he just gets cranky a lot because most of the population on this network thinks he is annoying, but we deal because people like him live their lives through making others angry. i was one of the ones that picked him out in the beginning, so he don't like me none too much, but i can sleep good at night

anyways.......on the insurance thing, i pay like $65 a month now, no accidents and no tickets and turning 21 in a few months so it should go down even futher. i would shop around because you are paying way too much!

TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR CAR!!

Kelli

I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.

I just found this forum last thursday too. I'm 22, male, have 9 points on my license, and pay $515/6mo with state farm. At the time I got my car (2 years ago) I was looking at it and a 95 Nissan Maxima SE and was actually surprised that this car had insurance that was a good bit lower (back then I was 19 with 6 points and the svx was $585/6mo and the maxima would have been $630/6mo)

nothing spectacular about it besides being a spectacular car. I've had it almost exactly 2 years and have put on 39k miles on it. Not to inflame anybody (well sort of) but its the best color ever made, a black over pearl 92 with the touring package. That speed sensitive steering and traction control were well worth the price. Leather and sunroof are a nice extra too. 5k miles before I bought the car it had a rebuilt tranny put in, and I just put one in myself (not personally, just had to pay for it myself) about 3k ago. I put in wheel bearings about 30k miles ago, and really really really really really need to again (I REALLY need to. Have put it off for 4 months so I could pay for college and the tranny work). I drive this thing very hard, and have taken it to an autocross once and the next day broke my stabilizer bar bushing. I can't wait to take it out again and break something once more

There are many things I'd like to do to it, but paying for college out of pocket while not working puts a damper on a lot of things.

I've seen that there are 3 other SVXs in Greenville SC, and am surprised I haven't seen them. I've had mine pretty much exclusively there its whole time I've had it and it felt kind of lonely.
