Talking Hello. My name is Billy, and Im a Suba-holic!

Hello...
First things first.
This is my first post! YAY! *bows down* Hello everyone. My name is Billy... Im a 19 year old 'mature' kid.. (LOL). But now, let's dont flame me already!!! Let me tell you more about myself.
I am not your everyday 19 year old WRX driving punk. I have been HUGE into Subarus since as long as I can remember.. often being the wierd kid in school fantasizing about a SVX or ... B.R.A.T.! I have had 14 different subarus that I can remember. 12, which I still own. They range from 1981 to 2002. Here's a quick list.
1981-1986... then to 2002.
2 GL Station wagons
3 GL-10 wagons
3 B.R.A.T.S
2 GL-10 Sedans
1 GL Sedan
1 WRX (Blaze Yellow... rice color... but.. no rice!)
My parents currently drive my pre-wrx car, a 95 Legacy.

I started a very succesful webpage about subarus.. www.ultimatesubaru.net which is the home to the "Ultimate Subaru Message Board" a board which has been around for SEVERAL years, and gets an average of about 3,500 hits a day! Not bad.. at least, Im proud of it!
I love ALL subarus and welcome any abandoned ones into my home!!
I am currently employeed at UPS, which is where I plan to stay until my retirement day! I make my OWN car payments, and my own house payments.. Not your typical 19 year old.
Now.. enough about my babbling.. Im sure you guys have already heard more than enough about me!!!!
Now, here's why Im here when I dont even own an SVX...........
you ready..........?
IM IN LOVE WITH THEM. Yes, I admit it, I too am a junkie!!
I have to get one, soon!! I have always wanted one, and have always passed them on by... but, now, I am needing a new vehicle to keep miles off the WRX... the SVX is a much nicer daily driver, as far as comfort. Sure, it doesnt have the speed, but it's got the looks, comfort and style that most cars dont have! It's a true classic.
So now, on the count of three... and I hope this isnt too late.... everyone repeat after me...
"JEFF SELL BILLY YOUR CAR!"
Man, it's just what I want.. I will be buying an SVX within 2 weeks, and I HAVE GOT TO GET JEFFS! a guy that is local (60 miles) has one, but I WANT JEFF'S!
Look forward to seeing/hearing alot from me, dont be shy to email me, and Im sure, like all Subaru people, that ya'll will welcome me to the family with open arms... just overlook my age, I promise Im not your typical kid.

With Subaru wishes,
Billy

Hi Billy! (this is the correct response at AA meetings, isn't it?)

First things first -- stop apologising for your age! You're welcome here no matter your age. We have everything from Young'ns to Old Pharts here, and we all get along surprisingly well. That's the beauty of "The Network."

Whether it's Jeff's or whomever's, we hope you get an SVX soon and that it's a prime example of the vehicle. We look forward to your continued involvement and, again, welcome.

Talking

Welcome Billy, but wouldn't coin collecting take up a hell of a lot less space?
Ron.

Talking Coin collecting..

Yes, coin collection would be easier and require less space, but heck, everyone does that!

Welcome to the network, Billy!

But SVXs don't 'have the speed?'

Let's see that WRX keep up with me at top speed.

Really, welcome, and good luck getting a perfect SVX.

Cool Thanks!! I feel so welcome!

Thanks for all the nice replies..
too bad I sold all my SVX brochures.. dang, I could have found people here that would have probably kept them in better shape than the ebayers!!

Joe - the wrx comment was funny..

Mr Pockets - My WRX will cruise easy at 140.. the magazines all say the car wont go over 130.. I have a video proving that mine will do 140 and bury the needle!
nothing done as far as a limiter either.. weird huh?
I would take you up on the race, but only if I got your SVX for winning, and if you won, I still get your SVX...but if we got wrapped around a tree, I still win. lol.
Okay, so maybe that's not fair..
and since Jeff is such a cool guy...... maybe I will be getting his.. hopefully. I think he's wanting to do a drug test and background check on me before selling it though... must be a subaru owner thing.

your Subaholic,
Billy

Yes, I want a thorough background check on anyone who would purchase my car. It's like adopting out a child. Must go to a non-smoker!

SVX owners tend to be a little crazy...welcome to the club Billy

Hope it works out, you'd be a great SVX owner altho you sure do have a need for speed! 140???

Jeff

I wasn't aware that the WRX was capable of that high a top speed. I used 140 as a conservative estimate, since I understand that MY94-97 SVXs have a limiter at 140 or 145 or some number like that. I've had my SVX at 130 and still had legs left - and since mine is a '93, I don't have a limiter, either.

Look, I'm not trying to get into a stupid 'my car is faster than yours' diatribe. My point was that the WRX has the SVX licked in acceleration, to be sure, but I'd put money on the SVX topping out at a higher speed than the WRX - and it'd also be far more controllable. I was just being picky about your use of the word 'speed,' which I don't consider interchangable with 'acceleration.'

Agree with me or not, with tires rated to only 130mph on my car, I'm not taking my car to its top-end anyway. <G>

Thumbs up Billy, Good to see you here!

As I spend almost as much time on The Ultimate Subaru Message Board" as I do here
After all those Subies, it's about time you got into a SVX!
A SVX will get more looks even than you WRX, you just can't not admire those windows!

Welcome aboard
