Rear drivehaft woes?
I was taking to a guy the other day that had paid his dealer $600+ to replace the rear driveshaft. This is not an uncommon practice for japanese 'shafts as some have their u-joints staked in instead of held by clips or glue (talk about cheap - GM.) Anyway, I just found a site that might make things a tad cheaper for those that need to repair their shaft.
http://www.staugustinefwd.com/RWD/Staked/staked.html Some mechanics torch the cross in half, drive the joint across and use a die grinder to remove the stake marks. Others use a different type of burr and just go at it without the torch. Other than that the replacement is the same as any other u-joint. Beav |

Thanks Beav!
That should really come in handy when my u-joints go. Thanks again!
