Let's talk Brembo 4 pots

Ok... We found out the brembos bolt to our hub. The 5x114.3 rotor also lines up with the caliper on the hub. the dilema is that the caliper is held away from the rotor too much. Thanks to Jman050 I was able to measure what we have here and I know what we will need to make the 4 pots work.

The stock Sti rotor is about 12.8" in diameter... Not too shabby.

The stock Sti caliper is .510 inches or 12.95mm too tall for the Sti rotor. SO this means we need a rotor to be 1.02 inches wider in diameter or 25.90 mm. Do some research for me and try and find a rotor with the same offset dimensions as the Sti with a diamter of 13.83 inches in diameter with at least 60mm of surface area. It needs to be 30mm thick too.

I checked DBA's database and they don't list any 352mm rotors with a 53mm height 30mm thickness and 58mm center with 5 lugs. I sent them an Email asking if we could find them. I will let u know more when I do

Thats not as far off as I expected. But hopefully we can find a rotor solution and open up our brake possibilities.

Does that .51 inches really not allow us to use a 17inch wheel?

Would 355mm work? Most of the big brake upgades for the STi use a 355mm, and I'm sure you could probubly get the rotor by it's self.

What about custom rotors according to our specs? Maybe a group buy?

been there done that! i am just kidding guys.

see tom now you now what i am talking about i wish it would have worked but it wont. and just think we are on the front and the rear is next, who knows what is going to happen in the rear.

i think we have a better chance with the wrx 4pot 2pot on with brembo rotors and 17inch rims will clear becuse the stock svx rims all most worked when we tried it.

thats 7mm too small. Not to mention, my measurements have shown me that the calipers will not effectively support a rotor larger than the STi rotor. Check the thread in my sig for the Brembo group buy, they are an even better deal

Do you really think we would have done all this research if we could just use the hub??? No the strut mounting points are different as well as other things
