In need of a Throttle Position Sensor

I'm not sure if there is a dedicated thread for part requests or not, so here we go. I am in need of a new throttle position sensor for my '97. Mine started acting up recently and after removing and testing it, getting the right readings is impossible. So if anyone here has an extra or can point me to someone who might have one, that would be great.
Thanks for the help, John.

Re: In need of a Throttle Position Sensor

So scary to see that the TPS is no longer available from Subaru any more!
Was there a TPS from another subaru that fit the SVX?

I see somebody in China is selling them:
https://www.alibaba.com/product-deta...565883052.html

Anybody tried those before? Looking at the photos they might be rebuild (looks like glue is coming of the seams in one photo. But the part number visible in one photo is the correct Subaru SVX TPS part number as far as I can tell.

Cheers!
Ian.

Re: In need of a Throttle Position Sensor

I actually contacted this seller before posting here. They are not available from them anymore, so that won't work. I am considering opening up mine and seeing if I can fix it with my dad's help, as he is familiar with working with electronics like this. If I find one or fix mine I will try to remember to update here.

Re: In need of a Throttle Position Sensor

Before buying anything else to fix it, I decided to cut open and clean the sensor. After spraying off the contacts with mass airflow sensor cleaner and bending out the contact arms slightly, I reassembled and tested it. It seems to be reading all good now, so I epoxied it closed and will reinstall it tomorrow. With any luck this fix will at least buy me a few more months before applying another solution, and if I get real lucky it will be a permanant fix.
