2017 Alcyone SVX

surprised this wasn't on here. from NASIOC:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2629960

"Subaru plans to buy THS, Toyota Hybrid System for 2017 new model.
This new THS has 2 mortors. It's far more bigger than Subaru's 1 mortor hybrid system that was used for XV hybrid. So this THS is not easy to use for current Legacy.
This system is rumored to be used for newly designed coupe, 2017 SVX.

More details are written in this article.
It's written in Japanese.

Interesting... need more pics!
As it is now, it looks like a newer BRZ model and not something as unique as the SVX should be.

I can't read Japanese but, it appears the intent is a successor to the XT and SVX. Doesn't float my boat yet, too mainstream.

i wouldn't go by that rendering, that is just a wild-ass guess. Subaru is pretty secretive about their upcoming designs.

glad that Subaru is even considering this. Hopefully if its true, it looks 1/2 as good as the original. i just wonder if it will be priced out of my league like the original, too.

Re: 2017 Alcyone SVX

It would be cool to have another version of the SVX, but I'm not holding my breath or anything, and if it did come out likely I could not afford it.

same here.

at least Subaru styling has been a little better lately, so that's promising - the WRX looks like an EVO now.

a new SVX would have to have some eye-catching styling, hopefully without being goofy-looking.

A larger version styled in the vein of the BRZ styling would be great. I would expect it to be premium anyhow since with the BRZ they already have something in the "lower" end price bracket.

Too be honest I'm pretty sure I want a 2015 Mustang anyhow.

What? You don't think a future SVX should come equipped with the CVT that they're putting in most of their new vehicles now?

And don't be surprised if it is a hybrid.
