Looks bad, but after looking again, it may be repairable. Good luck.

That will buff right out, and YT would be done by now!

I am not really trying to make light of this but I would fix it!

Make light of it. You wont hurt my feelings! It is in fact my fault it looks like that! Ill take any advice or pointing in the right direction on where to find info on how to actually replace that glass. I.E. how to do it? I would imagine my best bet is to pull headliner, bang out whatever i can with a body hammer, and then see how the windows attach. It appears to be window caulk, and plastic knobs that push into receptors. I.e. door panel clips for lack of better example.

Re: BAD NEWS! THE Svx took on the ditch and tree and lost

Need to ask you, what is the extent of damage to the front of the car? I am asking this because I can clearly see a part of your waterfall grille in the backseat place.

The hardest part to fix is your roof. The glass is easy to replace though...

The sides, the rear, is not that hard also... If I am not mistaken, the roof panel has weld pins all around, those weld pins can be heated again and you can remove it entirely and replace it with a new one. Again I might be mistaken (I've seen them on some cars...)

Good luck!

Re: BAD NEWS! THE Svx took on the ditch and tree and lost

As for the glass, after you pick up the replacement glass, and have the roof channel back into shape, call a glass shop to have them install it, as I feel this is one area a professional should be used, to ensure you don't have leaks.

I can get a windshield installed for $50-$60 here, so I'd say you could have those 2 side glasses installed for about $100-$150 (plus the cost of the glass)

Re: BAD NEWS! THE Svx took on the ditch and tree and lost

The front of the car sustained no damage as he car slid sideways trying to pull itself back up the embankment. The waterfall has been in the back for quite a while. The front of the car kissed a trailer hitch prob. 6 years ago at this point. If i could get away with just drilling the spot welds and popping a new roof on that would be sweet ! As far as the glass I will have to think long and hard about that when that time comes. I appreciate any help with how to's on removing the glass or headliner.

Re: BAD NEWS! THE Svx took on the ditch and tree and lost

The upper glasses are basically glued on the frame with windshield sealant, not that hard to replace but its going to be a pain when removing the broken ones.

I have all 4 upper glasses and rear windshield sitting in my garage and ready to be installed.

Subaru probably just relabels 3M Window Weld and sells it at a marked up price.

Re: BAD NEWS! THE Svx took on the ditch and tree and lost

Awesome! I appreciate all the info and help guys!

Pm replied to.

Thats good to hear they are just basically glued in. I am going to start and try and get the old glass out now and then pull the headliner to work on the window channel.

Re: BAD NEWS! THE Svx took on the ditch and tree and lost

Don't forget there are 2 different "Factory Tint" colors...you want to get ones that match your other windows....

And use a razor knife to cut out the old glass....shouldn't be to bad since they are already broken

Re: BAD NEWS! THE Svx took on the ditch and tree and lost

Ok so i have the rear window and the upper window for the rear pass. side, and I am trying to figure out the headliner or if its even worth pulling the headliner. I have it down on the pass side where i need it and its got a reinforcement bar that is in the way of the crease that needs to come out. Would you suggest getting one of those "stud welders" and then pull it out from the exterior of the vehicle? It looks like that might be the only way to do it. I am just asking for suggestions nothing in particular. Hopefully i will be able to save up the remaing couple hundred dollars and get the remaining glass and trunk. Thanks again for all the help with everything.

Re: BAD NEWS! THE Svx took on the ditch and tree and lost

I would use a combo of the stud gun and a shrink hammer on the roof creases.
