do i need the shift lock unit on a 5 spd

hey I'm going through running wires, and I noticed something that doesn't look like it needs to be there for the 5 spd, its called a shift lock unit, can I pull it out? or is it still used with my 5spd

The shift lock unit is what keeps you from taking the car out of park without hitting the brakes first. Since you don't have a park gear any more I don't think it'll hurt to remove it.

give someone with an auto the wire harness. they could use it to hook up a power mode mod button!! can't remember exactly how it works but the conector fits into the tranny comp
