Any PS2 gamers want to drive a virtual SVX?

Hey all, just wanted to pass some word along. There's a fairly new game out in the States for the Playstation 2 called "Tokyo Xtreme Racer DRIFT 2". Alternatively, it was sold in Japan as Kaido Battle 3. Some of you may remember the prequel to this game contained an SVX (as evidenced by searching on here), but the game itself wasn't very good.

Well, the sequel is much better than the first. It looks better, plays MUCH better, is compatible with the Logitech 900 steering wheel...and yes, the SVX is included. You actually unlock the car fairly early into the career mode. And at the time, it's one of the better cars available. Currently, I use my SVX for races that will take me on wet or gravel roads, where RWD can be a little too slippery.

And the best part? I picked up the game for $15 at EB Games. Not bad at all!

Cool!

I'm always on the lookout for new games (usually driving games) so I'll check it out.

Thanks.

Great, I even liked that Kaido Battle 2 so if newer version is better than that and still have SVX, I gotta get it. Good to find out there's still SVXers in the video game company... was it GENKI or something?
I still don't understand why Gran Tourismo dropped the SVX from pt 3. SVX is the true GT car...... I wouldn't buy PS3 if the new Gran Tourismo don't have SVX.

Crap, where's my "Welcome to last week" tag...

Anyway yeah, I bought the game a while back (and have been playing the Japanese versions for a while). Sadly they got the SVX just wrong. The stock SVX simulation is poor because:

1.) The gear ratios are just plain wrong. First doesn't top out at 55 MPH last time I checked. And isn't the final gear ratio 3.54? Game lists it as 3.70.

2.) It doesn't simulate the features of the 4EAT, including power transfer front/rear and it doesn't seem to account for a rear LSD.

Basically, it handles like crap and accelerates like crap. Just really sad.

But that's what happens when you have 180+ cars in a game... you just don't get every detail just right.

In any event, the game is fun once you get used to the physics (KB 1 and 2 shared a physics model, 3 has a new one). I just don't care much for the AWD cars. I stick with an AW11.

By the way, if you get a car and wonder why it handles funny, don't forget to turn the silly computer assist stuff off in your car's settings.

I know the game has been out for a little while. But I just picked it up last week, and looked around on here and saw no one had posted about it.

Just trying to share some info with fellow forum-goers...thats all.

3.54 is USDM, 3.70 is non-USDM.

Woah, really?

Um... then does first gear on the JDM SVX really top out around 55 MPH? It seemed awfully slow in the game...

It would be nice if Forza Motorsport 2 had an SVX. Forza 1 is probably my favorite racing game.
