Maintenance Meet Scheduled
Hi every body. It is getting time again for the Maintenance Meet. The date has been set, and will be Saturday April 28, 2007. We usually try to do some things that are not too complex, but still need to be done. The following list are some of the things we have done in the past.
If you would like to do something in particular, please put it after your name when you sign up. I have had a Bar B Q in the past as well. What has worked good in the past is I have chicken and burgers, pop and salad. People can donate for the food so you don't have to bring stuff. We will have donuts and coffee in the morning, and the Bar B Q after we are done working on the cars. Please sign up so I can plan on how much food is needed. We will begin at 9:00 or after until when we are done with maintenance and food.  1) Power Steering O-Ring - 2) Headlight Modification and Upgrade - 3) Switch light replacement - 4) Gear Indicator light on console - 5) Door Ding Removal - 6) Engine Power Wash - 7) Alternator and/or AC Belt Replacement - 8) List other things below - We will also plan on a Show and Shine / Kick Tires session. Come even if you don't have maintenance to do. You can always learn something.  PM or email me for directions if needed.

Four in one
Hi,
Sher, Joy, Shawn and myself plan on coming squeezed together in my car. This should be an interesting and cozy experience. We won't arrive until about noon, if that isn't too late. I do have a valve cover leak, but it appears that this would probably be too lengthy of a job for the day. Maybe just an overview of the steps required to do it, thus allowing more time to visit. 2) KVRXS +3 (look at valve cover gaskets) 3) Fuddman +1 (repaint center caps) 4) Mrs Fuddman ?? Noon will be fine. Some may arrive at 10:00 or after anyway.

I'm interested in replacing the PCV valve (one of the possibilities of my C/E problem code and also a possibility of leaking engine oil out the top according to a Subaru shop I went to that wanted $350 to do the job).
Chris and I tried using Earl's special tool at the M.M. last year and couldn't get it out, would like to see The Man himself show me how it works this year if it is okay? On that note, are you thinking of doing a bulk small parts order again this year Earl, or should I just order the part myself? I may also change my oil on site if anyone wants to watch. Needs doing so might as well make a demo of it if I'm not in the way too much! I'll probably arrive fairly early  as I will have some obligations later in the afternoon (can we eat BBQ around noon? ).

Who do you want to show you how to use the special tool? I think I know what happened last year. We shall see. I have a special surprise for changing oil this year. You can try it if you want Troy! What part or parts do you want? I have not got any requests yet, but if I need to, I can try to get them. Let me know.

Earl - since you crafted the tool, you'd be best to demonstrate it's use!
The PCV valve was the part I'd be needing, but since no one else needs parts and it is pretty cheap to start with, I'll probably just pick it up at the dealer rather than worry about a subaruparts.com order (time is short too).

Dang, one day too early
I'm in Spain and I'll be flying home on the 28th, arriving at SeaTac around 5 PM -- so unless you all are going very late, it looks like I won't be able to get there in time. Which is a shame, because 1) I've got some maintenance to do; 2) I haven't had an opportunity to hang out with our NWSVXer crowd since the Fall Colors Tour; 3) I've got a set of wheels to sell to Earl or whomever else wants them; and 4) I want to show off my shiny red SVX! Oh, well . . . next time. Once I get back, I'll take some pics and post them, and I'll look forward to seeing the photos from the maintenance meet!
