how do I get to climate control unit?

I want to remove the center console and get to the climate control unit as well as check grounds and wires to the cig lighter (which doesn't work - fuse is good).

Is this simple? Any semi-hidden fasteners that will cause breakage with too heavy a hand?

I know how to get to amost everything. Well, everything minus the cig. lighter. I already broke it by using brute force.

To get to the climate control unit, look at my instructions (locker) on how to take out the instrument cluster.

After the main plastic piece is out, you can unscrew and take out the top/center air vent. Under that, there are 3 or so screws that hold on the climate control.

Before you take it out, you might have to take out the stereo as well. To do that, there is a screw that holds onto the black piece. Then there are 2 more on the corners. That will take the stereo out. You now should be able to take out the climate control.

To take out the center gear shift piece, just yank it out..
