Too close to call

Well, I almost lost it today, my SVX that is. I'm on my way to work thinking that today will be one of the better nights at Domino's due to the big Snake River Rodeo going on. So less than five blocks from the entrance to the Domino's store this ricer boy pulls out of a gas station and stops about three car lengths in front of me in my lane. This guy had no intention of stopping and finally realized once his nose was sticking out in the road that maybe he should stop once he saw me comming.

He didn't even have the intuitiveness to back up, he just sat there. I locked up my brakes, yes all four tires were sliding, and came to a stop. The guy looked at me and said "What?"

I came unglued and got out of my car and asked him "What?" This guy sped off and needless to say that I caught up to him and gave this clown a piece of my mind. I just hate to imagine what I'd do if I ever wrecked my baby based on someone elses fault.

It's just a car man, keep your head on straight... I know the feeling, when I was driving 36,000 miles a year I'd get one of those once a month, and when it finally hapened it was my own car, not my bosses work truck... so I told the guy to stay away from me while I called the cops, 4 cops showed up in about 4 minutes and it was the first rain of the season, so ya know they were buisy My replacement car was hit twice in 3 weeks and both were hit'n'runs, caught both of em too!!! but only 1 got prosecuted any way, don't get too worked up... I had some redneck about the size of a house wanting to rip my head off because I tried to pass him when he was doin 15 under the limit... He jumped from 40 to 90 and thought I forced him to go that fast and endangered his kids... Lots of nuts out there...

Sooo...your ABS doesn't work, then?

As for chasing the guy...cripes, calm down, man.

I know I have a tendency to lump all drivers into the same category and determine, quite easily, that everybody except me is practically retarded. One stranger is the same as the next so it's easy to conclude that they're all bad drivers. I doubt I'm the only one who does this.

I think that the problem is that few people are aware that they do it, so when somebody makes a simple mistake they fly off the handle. They get out of the car and get confrontational. They chase somebody.

Sometimes I have to make a dumb mistake to realize that we all do. Nobody is a perfect driver, despite what we'd like to believe. We all just have to pay attention and calm the hell down.

If I made the same mistake and you got out of your car, pissed off, I'd leave too. If you then followed me I'd call 911 because you are the dangerous one - not the guy who made the mistake.

Civic Slayer,

Just when you think you've seen it all there's usually something even stranger ahead. While dodging people who are driving Dodges let's not forget that in your neck of the woods and mine the deer population has gone crazy. Twice this year my SVX almost got custom dented by a couple does. Saw one brand new Outback that connected with one looked ugly. The ABS system really comes in handy. Good luck to all of us keeping dent free.

Peach: What part of Spokane are you in? I only ask because I am in Spokane all the time (my dad lives there). Maybe we can meet at Northtown Mall sometime. Welcome to the site! Are you planning on coming to any of the Northwest SVX meets?

I'm in the valley, I do plan eventually on making some meets around the N.W. The Dabob meet came up too fast.. The fall colors will be great tho.. The Whitefish auction would also be a great run too! Northtown would be good, maybe Dick's Drive in if a guy had an appetite. Any way sooner or later, we'll all collect somewhere!

Most people around here are pretty shotty drivers as well. I thought about getting a bike to save on gas and to have a little more fun. But while I don't have many doubts about my own driving abilities, some people are just retarded when they drive. In my short life I have known one person to get killed on a bike, and another who was seriously injured, and both were the other driver's fault.

are you full-time on delivery? i was wondering about one of your previous posts - no car, no income. wondering you work for delivery.

do you think is worth it to use SVX for delivery? after take away the gas and some money for tires and maintainenace.

glad it was okay...nothing happened.
