WRC 2004 Season

I just got my SWRT E-Mail announcement for the start of the 2004 season. I thought Richard Burns was the second driver for Suby this year. The E-Mail announced a 23 year old Finn as Petter's team mate. On a side note, do you think Suby can win or get second in Manufacturer's points this year? Suby was 3rd in 2003. But Petter did get the Driver's Title. Also who is in this year? I know Hyundai is out, I think Mitsubishi is still out, and I don't think Renualt is in until 2005 or 2006. So that leaves Subaru, Citroen, Peugeot, Skoda, and ......uh.......oh ford. Anyone else?

Burns is out due to illness, it may be permanent. Not really sure of the details, but I'm sure someone here is.

Yea dude, mitsubishi is currently developing a new Rally car... I thik it's suppose to look a little like the Peugot(sp?)... Toyota has been out for a while, they need to goahead and get back in the game...

Poor sod collapsed at the GB Rally. They found a brain tumour. The prognosis is good.

Did you say that it's looking up for him??? Do they think that he'll race again??? I haven't been following his story very much, I'm gonna have to check up on it sometime...

Mitsu is running two cars this year (Mitsubishi Lancer 04)

One driven by Gil Panizzi (former Peugeuot 206 driver)
and an Italian (Gali).

Panizzi did well in Monte Carlo. He reached the 6th place.
Petter Solberg did great till last day.
Then he had a little crash and lost alot of time so he only got
7th over all!

I think this year it will be hard for Petter.
Loeb is a great driver and also Citroen is a great car in the WRC.
Marcus Groenholm can also win this year with the new Peugeuot 307 CC.

Mikko Hirvonen the new partner of Solberg in the Subaru Impreza
overheard a message of his co-pilot and failed in monte carlo.

I hope it will work out better for Subaru in Sweden (6-8 February)!

Well I watched the Monte Carlo Rally lastnight... Looks like I was wrong about the Mitsubishy rally car... They are staying with the Lancer... My source in Australia was wrong... Maybe he meant that they are developing a new car after this one... The current Mitsu looks like it needs some help... Petter Solberg and his new team mate need to get in the flow of things again.. Subaru is last in the points after "the Monte"... We'll have to see what happens a little later on though... Looks like that Peugot 307 is gonna be the one to beat this year... It ran through the Monte alot faster than the 206 due to a torquier engine and new tranny...
