Alex,
I modified a stock pan with 1/8 inch fins I had my machinist cut up and weld to the bottom of the pan. I just got a trans temp guage, so I'm looking forward to finding out what the finned pan and B&M cooler have been able to do to the trans temps.

Alex,
Good question! -- I'm not 100% sure - check my locker...I think there might be one or two that I took (if not, let me know and I'll take some and upload them)

So got everything hooked up, cooler in place, prima-cool filter mounted but i haven't hooked up any lines yet. Does anyone have a good picture in their locker of which lines they cut into?...specifically, which line is the in and out of the OEM filter.

with this info i should finish it up tomorrow.

thanks,
-Alex

Alex,
Do a search on "transmission cooler" -- there is at least one thread on the site that contains drawings showing the flow of ATF. I want to say the stock flow pattern is into the stock filter, out of the filter, into the passenger's side inlet into the radiator, out of the driver's side outlet on the radiator and back to the trans.
-Bill
p.s. check the pics in my locker, you might be able to follow them

Okay, I loaded a pic of my finned trans pan to my locker (in the trans pan folder, naturally....)
I bought a Stewart Warner trans temp guage off of Ebay. I haven't mounted it yet - have to figure out how I'm going to work it in with a couple of other guages - might just put it under the radio in a DIN housing (holds 3 guages, each guage is 2 1/16 in diameter).

Return the kit you got from Summit and get the right one. I've always had great dealings with the Summit customer service folks, so I can't image them not working with you.

Hi,
so u mean tht we have to have tht 3rd hole also. But on looking at the picture of their website, it doesn't show the 3rd hole. Do u have the 3rd hole on urs. Regarding the other missing items, i called them and they are sending them seperately.

Please can u tell wht exactly should we have to ask them when i call them. Becos the kit box it is marked as PRM 10678. But the bracket doesn't have tht hole.

Thanks,
Pavan.

Basically, just tell them you want the filter housing that has the threaded hole for a temperature sender. The housing you have has not had the sender hole drilled out and tapped with NPT threads for a sender (it's supposed to be right between the threaded holes for the inlet and outlet hoses).

Hi svxride,

i have contacted them 3-4 times, atleast they are tellin tht their stock is also not having any third port or hole. If they are not having tht, then whts the use of providing tht sender output pins (not the sender) along with the kit. Oh God!... now i think i am messed up...wht should i have to do now...

Thanks,
Pavan.

Pavan,
since you want to have a temp guage anyway, why not just return the 10678 kit (which I think you've got now) and have them send you the 10677 kit - which comes with the guage, sender, and wiring.
Given that Summit is telling you that the 10678s that they have in stock don't have the sender boss drilled and tapped out, I'm wondering if PermaCool has changed their manufacturing methods.
