Replacement Trunk Struts
I have a '92 that's currently for sale and, in the midst of getting it ready, I needed to replace the hood and trunk struts. Just wanted to let everyone know I found struts that work very well and were a perfect fit. They are on this site:
https://www.carid.com/atlas-lift/tru...3&url=94804279 After removing each strut and placing it in a vice, I had to drill out the rivets to remove the lower hinge, and the rest was fairly straightforward. Please keep in mind that this is a wingless car, but the struts hold very well and are reasonably priced. One question I was asked that is answered by the photos is that they do indeed hold the trunk lid up at 90 degrees. Shipping took less than a week so, again, just wanted to alert everyone that these are a great option since they're NLA from the dealers.

Re: Replacement Trunk Struts
Good info. What did you use for the hood struts?

Re: Replacement Trunk Struts
In the How to Docs & Faqs under misc., Earle Steele put a .pdf there listing NAPA hood struts. These are the ones I used:
https://www.napaonline.com/en/search...581&referer=v2 They are very strong; one can hold the hood by itself, and with two, closing is almost a two-handed affair. I hadn't any issue with them damaging the hood, they are just quite strong.

Re: Replacement Trunk Struts
SvXit,
Were those NAPA struts for the front hood or the trunk lid?

Re: Replacement Trunk Struts
The NAPA struts are for the hood, the other ones are trunk. I did check and couldn't find trunk struts at NAPA but, no matter, these other ones are perfect. Again, the NAPA hood struts are strong; you and Rosie would each have to grab a corner!
