Passenger Window won't Work from switchs

I am having trouble with the window only working when it feels like it. Any suggestion to slove the problem.
Tony

and you'll want to look up the instructions in the fsm for getting it out. If you follow the instructions it's pretty easy.

Re: Passenger Window won't Work from switchs

The window switches move +12v and gnd around to make the motor operate. If the motor sounds it might be the regulator. But when one of the two switches looses either a +12v or gnd it will not operate from either switch since they are wired in series. Best thing to do is apply 12v+ and gnd to the motor itself and bypass the switches to see if you have any movement. If you do, test the switches to see which one is not functioning and replace them accordingly

Re: Passenger Window won't Work from switchs

Carefully analyzing the wiring diagram indicates that the ground involved in the circuitry is confined to the main switch on the driver’s side window controls. Locking out all the other window switches is accomplished by opening the ground. This action is common to all other switches. Although the system is designed with connecting wires between the master drivers switch to each of the other window switches the electrical function is not a series function. If it was, it would require both switches to be actuated at the same time to cause any other window to move up or down.

The purpose of the ground is to allow the 12 volts to reverse the current flow through the motor to cause a change in direction to lower and raise the window.

If the passenger window basically does the same when controlled by the drivers switch and the passengers switch, I would consider the regulator. If on the other hand, it works fine with one and not the other, I would check farther on that particular switch… (Replace the danged thing)

Back when the Honda moto was “we make it simple” SVX didn’t.
My 2c worth…

Re: Passenger Window won't Work from switchs

t won't work from either switch and just some times it decides to work. Is the regulator able to let it work some times?
Mike what do you mean FSM?

no. It is a switch contact issue. Like Kwren said. likely that it is the master switch. You can take it apart and clean the contact on the switch for that window or look for a broken lead

Re: Passenger Window won't Work from switchs

Window regulators have a gear inside them with some sort of cut out in the middle and some sort of (usually plastic pegs or plastic balls) mechanism in that cut out that apply the torque from the motor to the gear up to a certain amount of torque. When they go bad they start slipping some of the time followed by slipping all of the time. If the motor is running and the window isn't moving it's the regulator. If the motor isn't running it's not the regulator.
