Tranny temp gauge solutions

Perhaps I'm going overboard with preparations for the new car, I'm just doing everything possible to ensure the tranny is as well taken care of as possible - I had AWD install an external filter and cooler, and I also purchased a tranny temp gauge for the car.

By the way - I'm crazy excited about picking her up on the 23rd, and enjoying our 3-day drive back to Utah

With that - I'm looking for a suitable, clean, unobtrusive, and easily visible gauge solution for the tranny temp gauge. Pictures would be extremely nice.

Thanks!!!

Re: Tranny temp gauge solutions

I'd post pics of mine but it is neither clean nor suitable for this car. I just stuck a gauge into the drivers side of the center console. It works, but it ain't exactly pretty.

I also don't have pics, but I'm happy with mine.

I put it in place of the cig lighter. I then added a lighter socket into the ashtray so I can still plug in chargers and stuff...

Re: Tranny temp gauge solutions

I do a valve body rebuild that will substantially beef up your transmission and speed up your shifts.

Do your cooler lines go through your radiator still?

Re: Tranny temp gauge solutions

Make sure they don't. The cooler in the SVX radiator is extremely restrictive so left connected in series with the aftermarket cooler it severely restricts the cooling and lubrication circuit. Use only the aftermarket cooler.

Re: Tranny temp gauge solutions

I'll have to ask Mike... I gave him some cash to install both an aftermarket cooler as well as a secondary filter before I fly out to drive it home...... and it was done..... but I don't know the specifics of "how" it was done.
