Ball joints? Possibly.. Guess what I'm getting at is should I, can I rather, connect the iPhone to the tape player thing? Or should I just go to a pawn shop and get an iPod or other MP3 player?

Please note I absolutly detest Mac, but like the reviews that the iPod's get. Which would be best with battery life also? Something with a screen? Cheap? Easy to use?
i'd say get your car fixed first, then worry about your in-car entertainment system.

depends on how big your music collection is - battery life on my 30gig iPod Video wasn't so good, but my newer 80gig iPod Classic lasts forever. if you don't need that much space, you can get a flash memory Nano or Touch.

cassette adapters sound like ass - there are several cheap iPod-controlling head units out there that will charge the iPod, display song info, and allow you to control it while its hidden away in a glovebox or center console.

I was unaware that there was reduced sound quality with the cassette player based system. I was looking at several dvd/navigation systems to use but everything is so damn expensive. As for the problems with the car, I don't know if they really exist! I may be paranoid and thinking all the sounds are something bad but maybe I'm right.

Anyway, anyone know where I can find a nice screen based system for cheap...ish?

Re: Microsoft zune

Sorry to ruin the iFun, guys... the wife's Zune fired up just fine today. No opening the case, no lost data, nothin'. Still worth the $100 savings.

Re: Microsoft zune

Nice. She doesn't use it in the car (nor at all on one day every four years, it seems ) but I'd probably want to if I had one. Case by case, we all win.

Re: Microsoft zune

I only use mine in the car and can scan through the music pretty good. But the only thing I would want on it is a touch pad so you can scroll f4st3r.
