Question yellow headlights

Aloha Gang!

I was reading through some posts and I noticed someone had mentioned yellowing on the headlamps. I have had the same problem with my 92. The outside gets somewhat grimy -- red dirt does not help -- rubbing compound will fix the exterior. But they just dont look like the side lights, which are clean and clear as new.

Any hints on how to clean the insides of the lamp housing, and what is the root of this problem?

BTW -- if there are any other surfing SVXers, ROLA makes a roof rack for SVX. Perfect for skiis, kayaks, windsurf rigs and a very special 9' noserider. EZ install!

a hui hou!

I had a how-to on that a while ago with photos. On the reformat, I lost the information. I will be doing that again today. When I do that, I will post picture howto as well. That will happen later this evening.

Thanks for the rack info. I no longer need a surfboard rack - since the days in the Navy on the west coast , but I've been looking for a good ski rack. 'Course now that wife's got the Volvo with a rack it's likely that we won't be four-wheelin' to the slopes anyhow.

Here's an interesting link for ya. Lakesurfers, uhm, rule. Cowabunga, and all that.

Actually, it's not a kite surfing site. I don't know why they put that picture on the opening page. Go to the forums. I was a lake surfer on Lake Michigan in the mid 60's. Yes, it was c-c-c-cold. Especially since the best waves are in the winter. Not many good days in the summer. Maybe 4 to 5 surfable days. The surfers become weather junkies, looking for fronts that will bring waves in for maybe a couple of hours. If a good break shows up, nothing is more important. Not work, not school, not anything. Ya just gotta go get wet.
