Forest Fires? Criminy, I could understand that in St. Louis where the humidity approaches the 100 degree temperature. We were hot here today and I did about two hours of driving in it. Didn't notice much except for the A/C drag when I had it on. Tried the sunroof open in the morning, but in the afternoon at 5 PM, forget it! I guess sluggish isn't a bad word for it.

I'll let you know! Only running mid 90's right now, but Guaranteed to be in triple-digits repeatedly this summer, as every summer in the Sacramento-Hot-Damn-Hot region!

I have been driving in near 100° F weather (actually hitting 102° F one day). I have my A/C on about half the time. While the SVX might run a bit on the sluggish side, it's still quick enough to smoke those ridiculous pseudo-dual exhaust Honda ricers with gigantic wings on the rear. If you think an SVX runs sloppily in 100° F weather, how do you think that primer gray Honda with the torque-increasing gigantic decals next to you is running?

It got to 104 on my road trip (I got a pic of the temp gauge - kinda hard to do while driving at 80mph). My car didn't seem to notice the heat, but I was coming down from the mountains, so maybe it just appreciated the lower elevation more than it hated the temp. With my ac on I had no idea how hot it had gotten outside until I stoped for gas. Ugh!

Re: Heat!
This section of the SVX FAQ page explains why in a very eloquent way: SVX FAQ - Air Filters
The long and short of it is, at 100* our engines will make ~10hp less... -Chike P.S. That's why, the fastest times by drag racers are usually turned in the early Spring or late Fall when temps are in the 40-50* range. Quote:
