Exhaust system

Hi all,

Due to a strange noise in my exhaust I have to change
the Exh pipe (number 2 in the attached schematic), can you tell
me if there is only a baffle in it , or catalysor.

If there is only baffle I will buy the Exh pipe at
http://store.yahoo.com/svx-motorspor.../cusexkit.html
then bend up the pipe my self.

Thanks in advance

This is simply a muffller and contains only baffles and expansion chambers.

the #2 item is just a std resonator to keep things

We sell a similar unit in our kit you could have installed
in place of your stock on pretty easy. Ive sold several to
customers with the same problem.

That's a resonator. On my last SVX I cut it out and installed a piece of straight pipe... it made little to no difference to the sound the car made except getting rid of the annoying damned rattle the resonator had been making! There was a little more noise at WOT, and (to my ears) a nicer sound to idle.

Even though I don't have the car any more, I actually still have that damned resonator sitting in my garage waiting to be thrown out. Damn I need to clean my garage
