Alternator Mod for 1996~7
Has anyone done the Alternator mod on a 96 or 97? I am ok with adding grounds, but a little paranoid about adding the straight shot positive to the alternator.
Any possible effect on the OBD II by doing this?

I did the alternator wiring mod to my 96 polo green that I bougt last November. I did the same mod to my 92 pearlie (in fact the photos in the How-to locker are of my 92)
There are no problems whatsoever. OBDII is not affected at all. Everything works perfectly and the electrical system runs from 13.9 to 14.2 V measured with my plug-in voltmeter. There already is a straight shot to the alternator, you are just adding a larger wire to decrease the resistance.
