Hey Larry....please post me on the list... and I also owned the 1600 GL hatch back from way back, and had the XT-GL10 which was a blast...it had the air shocks, turbo and all the fancy options...I used to pump gas at an airport and I used to put aviation fuel in it all the time.. it was free from the sump tanks(130 octane!!!) Needless to say the car was zippy.. even after the valves were completely burnt.. Before I re-worked the engine.. my compression was 30-40-30-50. And I still was pushing it to 90 mph!!!

Kudos to Subaru and SIA.

Plus, they make pretty good autos, too. Like any make, an individual model may have its weak spots, as well we know. But overall, they're really reliable. Our Outback is over 100K miles, and we've only paid out for minor repairs. Given basic care and PM, they'll run a long time.

I am going to camp out by my mailbox awaiting the upcoming issues of Drive magazine... I hope we are in there.

Not a problem

I wasn't sure if it would open for everyone or not, but apparently it works ok. Many of the people at the plant have been interested in the club as well. To see so many enthusiastic Subaru people is a good feeling to most of us who work here.

Seabreeze,

The interesting thing about this pdf file is that I could not print it. There are many security properties on it.
Here is a chalenge for any of you computer geniuses out there. Unlock the file and send it to me so I can print it and put the copy in my scrapbook.

I tried to do the same because I wanted to hang it in my 'cubical' I would be interested in printing a copy as well.

Newsletter

Larry,

I'll see what I can do about the printability of the pdf file. In the mean time, we usually have extra newsletters each week. I'll see if we have any left over. I might be able to send you an original. No promises, but I'll see what I can do.

Subaru's

Seabreeze,

I come from a long line of Subaru owners/fans. My immediate family currently owns 7 Subaru's : 1 Loyale wagon w/160,000 miles, 1 XT with 170,000 miles, 3 Legacy's (2 of which have 100,000 + miles and one that has 220,000 miles), 1 new Forester, and of course my SVX. My father has worked at the local Suby dealer for almost 20 years. The hospitality of everyone at SIA has proved what we've known for a long time: Subaru is a great company that makes great vehicles. We were absolutely delighted to visit the plant, and we look forward to many more years of Subaru ownership.

Please pass along a message to everyone at SIA : Thank you very much and keep up the good work!!!!!

David

Larry,
If Seabreeze143 is able to get you an original copy of the newsletter from SIA, would you scan it into a document and share it with the club? That would be great!
Thanks,
Harry

Harvey,

I do not have a scanner, but you can see the newsletter. It is an attachment to the second post on page 2 of this thread.

Green,

It's ok by me. We live close enough that we could have a newsletter scanning meet.

Larry,
We can get a scanner, if we can get an actual newsletter. I wonder how many SIA would print up for the club?? Worth asking??

And yes, I have seen the newsletter on Page two, but like you, I can't print it to save it for my grandchildren.........
Harry
