JDM SVX clock/air register

I'm always looking for OEM places to install extra switches. The clock in USDM SVX's is on the inner right air register; in a JDM it should be in the same place inner left side (right hand drive). So if the JDM clock is installed in a USDM in the same location as in Japan, the clock would be in the left outer air register. Am I correct in my assumption? That being said; if the clock can be removed and replace w/ some type of interior switch, it would look like an OEM placement
switch and we would still have a functioning air register.
