Part number for the lighted SVX Key? NLA

Did you know that if you pull up on the door handle, the keyhole lights up as well as the dome light turns on?

I just called the boys at the parts department at my local dealer and had them order one. They said they would give it a try, but are unsure if its still available.

The Subaru key blank with a green LED on the end is still available The part number is 57430AA130 and can be obtained from any Subaru dealer. Mine came from Wilkins Subaru and cut by my dealer. Cost was $12.92.

It LED comes in handy when opening the trunk at night. Matches the green LED on my new keylessride remotes




The Subaru logo is the switch.

Just for reference, i WAS able to get one of he keys, and it worked great. It went with my old car when I sold it.

The JDM key looks similar but instead of an LED, it has an infra-red transmitter that sends a code to a sensor in the door handle to lock or unlock the doors. I recently discovered the control unit for this system is next to the driver's seatbelt reel.

The dome lights don't turn on when you pull the handle, Just the key hole in the door.

Hahaha, that lighted key is from a Legacy. I know 'cause I still had the two original keys from my 1990 Legacy L when I sold it, and both were lighted keys which worked. Only problem was after time the constant torque on them would break them. They're just two plastic pieces with the metal key part sticking out, so if you torque it the plastic splits. My final key gave out after I left it at the dealership after it went into the ditch. Fools snapped the key into pieces.

Didn't know it worked in the SVX. Might be tempted to go buy another one for nostalgia's sake.

My '86 GL wagon had the same key. I used the light often (handy for finding the front door keyhole if you forget to leave the porch light on), and it still worked when I let the car go in 2000. Come to think of it, maybe I did replace the battery once...

My JDM didn't come with one of these and they are $250 for them. I guess I won't be getting one of those.
