Everybody has their first time around a track, and it doesn't matter if it's pretty. Ask for advice, ask for an instructor, ask anything you want. Typical autocross people are cool and want to see you go fast - even your competition! Jump right in; it's good for the soul.

And you wont do any worse than the 82 year old guy in a 2004 mustang convertible who cruised the whole course at about 35mph, skipped the ending of the course, and then started on a second lap ... True story from the summer sizzler auto-x
