Power steering fluid GONE -_-

Ok, so i really dont need to know where it went because its all over the snow in the driveway.....

I havent played with anything under the hood except replacing the master cylinder. The car had also been fine previously: IE the 1hr ride home after purchase, and the 3 test drives i did after doing all the brake work.

So ill start here.... The day after i did the brake work, the car was in the garage and i started it to warm it up and test drive it. I had noticed there was smoke coming from the front of the motor near the ABS block. I had been bleeding the lines from the master and figures i had somehow spilled brake fluid on the manifold.... so i let it run... smoke pretty much appeared to disappear.. so i went for a test ride and everything was fine....

TODAY however, I went to move my car and after leeting it warm up completely, I had NO POWER STEERING... GAH!! what happened??????

I thought about the O-ring, but wanted to check here before i just jumped in.....

Thanks,
Mike

Other possibilities for the leak;
-High Pressure line, has metal pipe fittings. On 92-94? There is a metal pipe running across the passenger side head, then the HP hose running down to the rack. On 95?-97 It runs from the pump to the rack. If you pull this hose out and take it to a shop that builds hydraulic hoses, they can rebuild it for about $30. New from Subaru is around $80??

-Low pressure return line, has hose clamps. This can be replaced with 3/8" ATF cooler line that can be purchased by the foot at any parts store. There are 3 sections.
- From the rack to a metal pipe at the back of the passenger side head
- From the the metal pipe at the front of the passenger side head to the PS cooler in front of the radiator
- From the cooler to the PS pump reservoir

Yeah, losing all the fluid real quick is most likely one of the LP hoses.

The easiest way to find the leak is to get the car on ramps and add some fluid. The leak should make itself somewhat evident.
