I didn't get too fussed about this guy's opinion because I know it's one of those books where Barnes & Noble pulls a bunch of stock photos from all over and compiles them and then has some low-paid person throw a few lines of text into and the "author" or "editor" gives it a quick glance to check for grammar or spelling mistakes and it goes into print. There's little or no original research or writing that goes into them but some of the pix are interesting sometimes. Here's a link to the book:

http://search.barnesandnoble.com/boo...50947145&itm=1

My other hobby is railroad history and I don't know how many variations of the "Great Trains of the World" books from the "bargain" section of Barnes & Noble I've been given by well-meaning friends and family over the years. Again, they're just stock photos and often laughably-inaccurate text. I thumb through them a few times maybe and then give them to charity. A lot of what Barnes & Noble sells is just a waste of good trees.

And yes, The XT was cited as another one of the "worst cars" as was the AMC Pacer, which was my first car when I was 16. I bet I've owned several others mentioned there as well!

If he thinks that the SVX is bad, he should have listed a 1968 Toyota Crown.
I had a cheap plastic interior and broke down about every two weeks.

what are the makes and models listed in the book and do they rank them? I'm curious what this guy thinks....seems like he is just listing them based on looks IMO.

I didn't have a chance to look through the whole book, but the cars listed appeared to be pretty random with no order. A lot of them were obscure (eastern) european makes and models.

"odd" window arrangement
Aesthetics should never be a criteria for judging the best or worst of anything ...
it's just too subjective.

McLaren F1 owners might just disagree with his opinion on that point.

poor "fuel economy"

That's the last thing you'd want from a car in this class. Even though the SVX can get over 20mpg

"cheap plastic"

Driven any Hyundai lately?

It was a fantastic interior, if you are into gadgetry (I am) and have never driven an SVX (:/), or that BMW X5 we parked next to which seemed to be beautifully sculpted yet has ugly tailpipes.

Ah well.

GM is going downhill, the new line of trucks is worse interrior than the previous, I'm glad I have the previous 550# of torque
