Calling the hotel on Tuesday, Nov. 1
I have a feeling I know which one
 , but until I check the hotel preference and date polls on that date, I won't know for sure.I'll call each hotel to get some competition going for our business. I just hope that the dates we want are available. I will then get a rooms contract generated. Any specific requests? Same amount of rooms as last year? We had 35 reserved (30 queens and 5 kings) Who is handling the dinner reservations this year?

well, as of now i still consider myself going, but i'm about to lose alot of money and work to get surgery on my hand in a few weeks or so, so no gaurantees still. i promise i will do all in my power though to be there.

Reading VII: Calling the hotel TOMORROW!
With about 24 hours to go, with a preference of 6-1 (85%), the Morgantown Holiday Inn on April 21, 22, 23, 2006 is the overwhelming choice for Reading VII.
Only 21 members voted; I guess the remainder of the 35 that have signed up are happy either way. I'll hold out until midnight tonight before I pull this plug, but I'm sure there will not be a last minute call from the governor . 148 DAYS TIL READING VII The countdown has begun (21 weeks) .

READING VII: Hotel contacted
Since the poll figures have not changed at all, I went ahead and contacted the Morgantown Holiday Inn late this afternoon.
I spoke with Tara Zimmerer, Director of Group Sales. She is very familiar with our history there. I told her the dates, the number of rooms we would want, etc. She will get back to me tomorrow with her proposed rates for 2006 (She also has a copy of last year's contract for reference) I also told her of the difficulties some members experienced with reservations, confirmations, housekeeping, etc. I told her I would send a list of concerns and comments (post-Reading Six) that are on this forum: http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/showthread.php?t=25486 She is most eager to see what we had to say about our most recent Reading experience, and will try to address our concerns in advance to try to make sure there are no surprises and that things run more smoothly than last year. I will report back whenever I get this information. Didn't someone express the desire to have an all-day BBQ going on in the parking lot on saturday, since lunch was not available? (BTW, by the time of our meet, the hotel may be open for lunch) /

Now that I know where the Reading meet will be in 2006, I figured it was time to, once again, use the NASA-funded time machine and get a little sneak peak at how things will turn out....
Well, inspite of his post Capitol Raceway surgery, Chike did come to Reading to serve Dave and Ben their victory beers...  Dave enjoyed his...  As did Ben...  Mike Davis, unfortunately, drank waaay too much and woke up not recognizing himself....  On the non-drinking front, the J-man had his twin turbo'ed SVX up and running...unfortunately, he figured (correctly, of course) that he'd need to use Nitrous to spool up his turbos in order to keep up with Bill Stock Level Infinity II....(and you thought Jesse made a mess in the parking lot last year!)  Jesse came down, loaded for bear, looking to take down the "Beast from Cumberland", only to still find his nitrous set up still just a little bit off....unfortunately, there would be no trailering it home in '06...  And, finally, Bill Stock Level Infinity II made its debut and proceeded to melt down half of the parking lot with AWD burnouts...  -Bill (aka NASA Time Traveler....)
