my dentist had an 850. Cool windows as the center dividing front from rear windows went down with the back window leaving a completely open side of the car. Also another smiliarity to the SVX.... cool windows

fl-svx, your rear wheel is on backwards, sorry, it's a requirement to point that out.

wow, i like you

in your profile Keister7, you have your birthday as being in 1930, nice. so that makes you 74 almost 75, and still you drive your SVX hard. nice, why can't you be my grandpa..
If there's one thing I'm not, it's a wimp. I'll admit it, I have raced in my lifetime, behind the wheel of my SVX, and it felt good darn it. It's a very nice car to have in "those situations". But I will maintain that I have not exceeded the speed limit(and been caught) you didn't see me, you can't prove it, I didn't do it, HAH
(Earl, time to close this thread.. I can't control myself)

my lawyer owns a 850 v12 and has driven my svx. his remarks were that it felt half the size of his car, and that if it wasnt a subaru he would buy one. he is right ive never driven the v12 modle but my impressions of a repoed v8 vas that the car lacked the nimbleness of a touring car. it literaly handeled like a train, but it was in relitivly poor shape so that could have something to do with it. ive driven close to a hundred sports cars at my old job and none of them do what the svx does. you have the fast ones and the ones that handle like a dream and the ones with great ride quality but arnt very fast and dont handle that great. the thing with the svx is that it does preaty good in most of those aspects. and most importantly THE LADIES THINK ITS HOT!!

I have two SVX's and I drive both cars almost every day. The thing I like the most is the safety we get because of the responsiveness at any speed. What a treet to drive!! I wouldn't want to drive anything else.

you are so much like my grandfather. he will be 81 this year and he gave me my first love, 1987 subaru loyale wagon (dragon wagon). old man still drives a five speed subaru, he sticks with the 80's modles because he says their cheep to work on.

About 6 months ago a 16 year old girl type totaled it while driveing west ao a street that runs north and south in the middle of the block? That's right... she was driveing west!!! Silly me .... I was driving south!

Ask and You shall receive. I split out the racing portions and left the great talk about the 850.

BTW: Anyone see the new BMW M6? Beautiful car.

Yea the M6 is an awesome looking car. I love the 5 series too but only from the back or the front. From the side the back lights look weird.

I totally agree. I hope this current body lineup that BMW offers won't last more than a few years. The last 2 body linups were awesome (from early 90's to 2003)

A guy in my BMW club autocrosses his 850. It is not a nimble car. It competes in the lowest class we have in the club. Still, it is my favorite bimmer in the past 20 years.

A little OT, but a guy in the club autocrosses his stock 750il! On one of his runs, he drove around the track with 5 people in the car (all wearing helmets). Freaking hilarious. The guy is an instructor and drives that car faster than most people drive their M cars. I can post video if anyone is interesting in watching.
