Oh yeah, snow story

I went up to Tahoe (KIRKWOOD) during winter break with my SVX.

I saw and followed a Panda SVX with spoiler for awhile on highway 680 I beleive. The driver had a moustache. Anyone here?
It was a pretty nice ride all the way up there except for the first 10 minutes in the morning when my tires were iced up from staying at a motel the night before. ABS was going on at 20 mph !

Went to Harvey's casino and saw a fellow svxer parked next to me. Asked about my trans cooler isntallation and I gave him the SVX network URL. You here?

Unfortunately, some one during the night scraped the back of my bumper while trying to leave the parking lot! (note to self, dont park near large american cars) Time for touch up paint.

When we got near the resort, we were stopped by the transit authority. WHen I rolled down the window the guy in the orange parka said "Subaru huh? Is that your friend in the Accord?" When I replaied yes, "he said "just park behind him over there while he gets his snow chains on." ITs great, close you get to snow country, the percentage of subarus skyrocket! I almost whish for that two tone paint from the outback for protecting against throw up rocks though.

Trying to be safe than sorry, I tried to put my own snow chains on
anyway in the front, but couldnt buese 1) I didnt practice beforehand 2) it was snowing/raining 3) I didnt want to pay the 20 bucks for soemone to put it on 4) The front wheel well was too small, excruciatingly hard to put them on, and it looked like it would rub. These are the large chain type snow chains, not the cable type(which my friend put on his Accord in less than 5 minutes)

So I just went! I'm surprised with my Kumho 912 ultra performance summer tires! Didnt have any trouble, except I kept a large distance between my friend. (For some reason he loves tailgating, and he snapped has chains going 60! Second time breaking chains too...)
