Reading 6

Now that Reading 5 is overwith it is time to look toward our future with Reading 6. I have some ideas which I did discuss with a few of the faithful (probably a little too late for most to remember).

The first of which is to have our dinner at the Antique Automobile Association's HUGE museum. Issues with that are: 1. it is kind of a hike (maybe an hour each way), 2. It wouldn't be exactly cheap. I think I can get it down to about $30 a person for hopefully a better meal than this past year. Sorry to the last table with the beef but I'll tell ya it wasn't all that good anyways
. Not that you would know that looking at the mound on Larry's plate . 3. We would need to set a date now as they were completely booked this past year.

Second, as I have viewed in many posts thank-yous to the planners involved. As much as we appriciate the thanks we would much rather hear about everyone's likes and dislikes about their weekend. It would be nice to see it all in a thread as others will be able to chime in as well BUT I understand that if you would prefer to PM one of us: Nubs, BluebyU, 1995GreenSVX, or Benebob with a complaint rather than posting it. Remember with out all of you the meet would never happen so without your continued inpute it is very difficult to judge which directions to go.

Again, I would like to thank Langston Subaru and SOA Penn/NJ region for their participation and give-aways. I would also like to thank everyone else who provided donations to the cause or to specific individuals. Finally I would like to thank EVERYONE for a great weekend.

Here is the link to the museum but it seems they are redoing their site. There isn't much there at the moment but it entails the entire history of the auto in real life scenes throughout the museum (i.e. a drive in etc.).

I think that having dinner there would be great!!! As long as we can do a nice long drive I'm up for almost anywhere!!! It would also be cool if we could drive by people so we can see the looks on thier faces when 45+ SVX's roll by

It ticks me off that we have become so picayune that we analyalze how much beef is on my plate. I heard that same comment from 2 other sources later that night. Obviously, the members can believe what they will but have it wrong as usual and they should get their wheels and their heads screwed on straight. The mound of beef was not that high considering that it was mostly green beans underneath the beef.

Shrug it off Larry. You're better than paying attention to comments.

It was poor planning on the part of the food staff.

LOL. I didn't know green beans fit into the low carb diet. Nice avatar Doug.

Doug,
I see from your Avatar that you claimed a poor young Amish girl's soul. Shame on you

Had he snapped 12 more pictures of her he would have captured her soul completely. Doug, you devil, you!

Johnny
*Rumor has it that each picture takes only a part of the soul. 13 pics and they are soulless.

I took six pictures. we were so far away, I had trouble getting the shot through the windshield.

I guess next year I will have to grab the rest of her soul

Honestly, I didn't know about that soul thing until after the rally was over.

I thought after 13 pics , her father gives you a parcel of land and makes you marry her, and you can only bathe on Saturdays. I could be wrong, but do you want to take that chance?

I think this thread got off track!

Dinner and drive to the Antique Auto Museum sounds cool. I hope there's no alcohol there, I'd hate to see something go wrong. I'm not against drinking at the hotel, but driving afterwards is not good!

Cheers ,Brian

Dinner

Hi Ben, The museum sounds like a great place to have dinner. And Brian you will find that just about every thread with four or five posts starts to go off topic. Its part of the charm of the site. Take care, BOBB

Meet

Hi Chris, Yeah, and I said HI a couple of times as you walked through the lobby. Once with a lei around your neck. I wondered what that was all about. Then when I got home and read the posts about the meet all was clear. You can't be everywhere at the same time. Once again I didn't get to meet everyone. Maybe we should have a lineup and shake hands with everyone who attended. Was glad to see Cigar Johnny and hie wife and kids. Its a good way to find out about how all the people are like for real. Ihad a small amount of beef and some chicken. I thought the chicken was quite tasty. I look forward to seeing the video of the dinner. Should be fun. Take care, BOBB
