Loss of hp around 5000 rpm

My car has been a little sluggish the past week, and when i get it up to 5000 rpm it has a hard time revving up any farther, I've tried re-setting the computer, thinking i got some bad gas and the timing changed, but that didn't help. Any suggestions?

I think no one has had that problem before and you need to give a little more information for us to try to diagnose.

I had a problem like that when my air filter got wet which clogged it enough that it didnt flow enough air to get past about 3500rpm.

Not sure what else it could be.
Have you checked the intake boot for cracks and checked the vacuum hoses for leaks?

i think i've figured it out, its not the air filter, thats one of the first things i checked. I get a loud rattle from the area around the cats, which makes me think one of the ceramic disks got loose and is partially clogging the exaust.
