Reading Ideas!

I feel like there should be a post here of ideas for reading 2012. I feel like there isn't hardly any information about it, and it's kind of disheartening. This is the 20th anniversary- it should be superb. If everyone puts their heads together, we can use each others' resources, ideas, and brains to make it awesome. I know I'm nothing more than a dumb little kid with an SVX, but we've gotta start somewhere.

Here's my idea: I think, if we get enough people, we should arrange all of our cars in the shape of a big "20" and take a snapshot of it from the top of the hotel.

The signup list for this event is pathetic and the lowest ever this close to any meet. I told the hotel this was a milestone event and they gave us 25 rooms minimum for each of the 3 nights.

If things don't improve dramatically soon, I'll move Earl up to the No. 1 slot.


I just can't watch a once-robust and thriving thing decline and end up on life support because nobody cared enough to step in and stop the bleeding.

Maybe if the mods here unstickied the Reading 12 stuff and didn't have the Sign up list burried in the 20th anniversary area it might just help. Just a thought.

I've added new threads for "signup" and "rooms booked" lists under the Reading Forum. Took the current info from the 20th Anniversary forum.

We will sticky them as well.

Those attending (or planning to attend) sign up there from now on.

B 4 You, I agree. The 20th anniversary should be something special, but with absolutely nothing being done to drum up interest...who's going to go?? I am frustrated with this whole meet, I pm'd svxcess a month ago about being available to help in any way on the event, be it brainstorming ideas, events, activities...but heard nothing from him.

That being said I tried starting my own mini meet earlier this month and got one interested member. I was grateful but still the more the merrier is generally the concensus at a meet. May be just a sign of the times that svx meets are getting harder and harder to organize on a larger scale :/
