Think of it this way guys: Where else are you going to find a completely unique car with tons of options, a badass top end, and the fit and finish of your current SVX? For 5,000 dollars? For 10,000 dollars? For 15,000 dollars? Hell, even 25,000 dollars, it'd be quite challenge. Even IF you have to spend 5,000 on a paintjob and 3,000 on a tranny, thats only 8,000 more dollars to drive a car that FEELS like its worth a million bucks! Thats why I say I'm keeping it.

Uh oh, 5K to repaint, just borrowed 3K from the 401K for this project. May be scrounging under the couch cushions for the rest!
This car is my second car/beater/daily driver - an expensive paint job would change it's status in my mind to "garage queen and weekend driver". As it has become an accustomed extension of my legs, feet, personality, ego, etc. - a cheap paint job just won't hack it, no matter how much money I lose (there go the emotions). Woops, I'll just keep my turmoil to myself. |
