Have you take a look on the screw on top of the headlight that hold the corner light? If this just happen maybe you missing this.

.

I you take out the center grille, you will see the two bolts which hold the headlight in.

If you take out the turn signal assembly, you will see two more bolts which go into the side of the headlight. Loosen these a fair amount.

Go back to the bolts in the front . Loosen them and try to slide the headlight to the side as much as you can and tighten them snugly. Then reinstall the turn signal assembly to see if the gap is tighter. If it is, tighten the two front bolts completely.

Take out the turn signal again and tighten the two bolts on the side just enough to keep them from moving; don't tighten these too much. Reinstall the turn signal and the grille.

Once you reinstall the center grille you may have to slide it somewhat to even the gaps between the grille and headlights.

Of the above procedure does not produce the desired results, simply elongate the two mounting holes in the front to allow the headlight to slide a little. I did that on my Polo.

Just follow my instructions and you will be fine. Was the car ever in an accident which involved the front end?

Posting unclear statements with a lack of photos will yield few answers to your vague inquiry.
