Re: Salutations - need help with starting problem

Fuel pump was replaced today. I get her back tomorrow a.m.! I think Im going to go ahead and red sea foam next. Unless someone can give me reason not too? I have never used the stuff before. Also does anyone know where I can get a quick change shift kit? Harvey? Svxpartscentral had one on ebay last week, but I emailed the guy and he said they were no longer available, at all.

Re: Salutations - need help with starting problem

The quick change is temporarily not available due to a part shortage. You might be able to find one that someone has not yet installed. Or you could contact ECUTune / longassname for a modified TCU.

Re: Salutations - need help with starting problem

Well I'm back on the saddle folks. I drove this thing like I stole it today! Getting some vibrations at high speed though. Probably from sitting around for a month. I will have the tires balanced and rotated in the next few days. Nice to report closure..........For Now.

Car has been running fine all week, then I stop to get gas today and when I try to crank it stalls out every time. After about ten minutes of this it finally cranks and runs fine. Run several places, stopping and restarting fine. Get back home and the car sits for an hr or two and now the same thing, stalling out immediately. Keep in mind fp, fuel filter and new strainer were just put in. Suggetions please!!

Re: Salutations - need help with starting problem

Could the fuel pump relay be the culprit here? If so, why would replacing the fuel pump illuminate the no start issue for the past 5 days?

Re: Salutations - need help with starting problem

I had an electrical problem with some wiring which was pump related. All I can say is I wish I lived closer to WV!

That type of problem can be from an leaking injector that is leaking down the rail pressure when it is stopped. When you go to start it, you have to turn it over long enough to clear the fuel out before it will start.

Have we brought up the infamous MAF yet?
Symptoms sound familiar.

Ron.
