Hi Sonny

Where did you get the clear headlights? They look cool.

Is there a fog-light in the inner one? Is the beam focused and controlled enough to pass government tests?

Joe

Thanks Sonny,

They look good. Pity they are not glass.

It looks like your Swedish one has only the blank plate in place of the fog lamp, like the English models. Is that the case?

What I would really really like would be a clear replacement for the fog light fluted area only . That way, I could convert the fogs to driving lamps for hi-speed long distance visibility, while leaving the stock glass OEM on the main/dip lights.

Joe

-Sorry to say Joe, but -yes, there is just a plate in place of the fog lamp.

But it should be possible to put a lens type (maybe xenon?) driving lamp in there, if you find one that will physically fit.

I have solved the problem of the dark period like this :

That looks good man.

My Black Betty from England is the same, no fog lights in it, and I notice the German models also do not have the fog lamps there.

Wonder if there is any engineering reason for it?

Here's what I am going to do with mine; I am going to take off the glass of the English lamps, and the plastic off the Japanese lamps, and swap them.

While I have the faces off, if it is easy to take out the fog light and the blanking plate, and swop them, that is what I will do instead. That solution would leave me with the English lamp chassis in place. I would be able to continue using the headlight levelling motor.

Joe
