Significant Technical Input Registered SVX Classic SVX
WANTED: Time control Unit

Does anyone have a Time Control unit? I am assuming that is my problem

I don’t have instrumentation lights (except for gear indicator of the dash) No dome light, map/spot lights, door courtesy lights or trunk light.

I do have visor lights, all exterior lighting. SVX starts and drives without problems.

Re: WANTED: Time control Unit

Are these the lights which can normally be dimmed?

If so, I suggest you check the illumination control rheostat. It would appear that shorting together its two connections should result in full illumination. You can do no harm unless you short a connection to ground. Also investigate the dimmer cancel switch which connects a positive supply from the ignition switch to the timer unit via pin a1.

Wear and tear as well as corrosion is possible whereas the timer assembly is all solid state and unlikely to fail without provocation.

Otherwise, I guess you have checked all the timer plug connections and in particular ground at a12 and a13. (Pins a4 and a14 connect the rheostat.) However it is difficult to accept that a single connection could be faulty.
