Re: AMR Engineering Update

Radiator is in my possession and looks to be of as good of quality as any other name brand unit. Which is to say im still going to polish it up a bit because, well...Nevin.

Overall not a bad experience with AMR.

Id consider a set of coilovera as well but for now I need to put that in the "SOMEDAY" column.

Re: AMR Engineering Update

Excellent news. Enjoy the SVX.
Maybe AMR has stepped up their game.

I’m with you, Nevin. As polished as that radiator is, it is not 100% consistent and has swirls and buffing marks. Before my install, mine will be treated to an extensive show/ high-mirror polish over every inch.

After the installation, touch up any areas that need it. A final application of the 22ple ceramic glass coating to seal it all in permanently. Then “Dr. Dremel” can continue with what he does best.

I was originally considering powdercoating the top tank in a matte black fine wrinkle finish to resemble OEM, but reconsidered because the welds would stand out too much.

Re: AMR Engineering Update

I had also considered painting the top of it but decides since I had the intake manifold polished anyways I may as well match it.

I painted the tanks on the Koyo in my WRX, even bought and applied the factory sticker that's on top of the OEM radiator. Fellow engineers at my work didn't even notice when I invited them to point out aftermarket parts in my engine bay.

As long as we're matching, decided to use the green hoses on the polo

Rubber hoses also don't allow antifreeze/water to evaporate out of the cooling system the way silicone hoses do, though the rubber hoses are less temperature resistant.

Re: AMR Engineering Update

Hi Nevin, I know it's been a while, but did you ever get through to AMR? I can't see to get a call-back, email-back, or anything.
Advice?
