eeek, my transmission!
I think my transmission's going. It was fine in LaConner, but for the past two days it doesn't seem to like 3rd gear.
 The previous owner had it replaced by AAMCO (yeah, I know) about 9,000 mi ago, I really expected it to last longer.

That is not good news! Be sure to check out all the transmission related threads here to help diagnose the problem.
Doesn't AAMCO offer some kind of warranty? At that mileage, should be within it I would think.

Yup, it's still within warranty (thank goodness). The warranty's almost over, I'm worried that the 3rd tranny wont last any longer than the 2nd.
It happened so quick, I didn't really expect it.

Yeah that is a little scarey. I'm on number 3 myself, just passed the 2 year mark so officially out of warranty. So far so good though.

Do you have a cooler? If not, you might consider having them put one on for you when they do the work.

I'd like to get a cooler, filter and temp gauge, but I want to see if I can have it done by someone else without voiding the warranty. Or is this one of those things that needs to be done when the tranny's opened up? If the transmission only lasted 9k, I'm worried I'll get a cooler of similar longevity. (Yeah, I know, I should've had it done as soon as I bought the car, but I had other repairs and I'm usually a gentle driver, so I thought it could wait.)
I'm hoping to get my car back on Tues, AAMCO keeps postponing the date, sigh. And now I see SVXs everywhere, several per day, makes me miss mine. Perhaps the 4th transmission will be a 5speed.
