Re: Poor gas mileage.

I was getting about 19MPG on the average. Now I get close to 25 MPG.
I took some advice I read here on the forum, Use 3rd at lower speeds and use cruise control on higher speeds. Works great!

Re: Poor gas mileage.

I finally calculated mine. I am getting 24 mpg (23.8 actually) on the highway with my 4.44.

My 4 cylinder Mazda 6 only gets 28mpg on the hwy, so I thought that was pretty good.

My 92 with 4.44 came in the same as this prior to switching to LAN's chips for both ecu and tcu. Saw about 19-20 combined prior to chipping, got closer to 22 combined (which personally I consider to be my city mpg). Straight highway after chipping I was never able to pin down before selling the car, but I assume with the ~2 mpg increase I saw, the highway should have been around 25-26. I'll have to check with my buddy and see what he's getting now with the chips since his commute to school is all highway. Might be prudent to note that my mpg numbers were from ~30% throttle most times, with lift off going downhill. My outback that I have now is seeing around 25 mpg combined average, 30 highway. Best I've managed is 28 mpg combined 32 highway, but that is using some of the tips I've learned from the hypermilers.

For anyone interested, here's a couple links that may help with improving your mileage
