jack points

where is a good spot to place the jack to jack up the front end of the car, and after this where is a good place to place the jack stands? i want to take out the air filter resonator and i dont want to hurt anything.

<sigh> Why doesn't anybody use the Tech Q&A forum any more? If we instituted some sort of corporal punishment on this site, then I bet we'd have fewer posts i nthe wrong place. :P

I jacked my car up by the front crossmember. Remember to put a 1x4 or 2x4 in between the jack and the car.

As for the stands, I put them under the crossmember as well. My car was up in the air for almost a month like this, so I guess it's okay.

I didn't put the stands under the jacking points on the body because the stands have a channel cut into the top that didn't fit the body well.
