There should be a badge with the build date and VIN riveted to the driver's side door jamb.

B&M tranny cooler rated at 19,000 GVW. GC springs and Koni strut inserts installed and the car is lowered two inches all the way around!! "Too much fun to drive!"

so I tried carfax to see where the adjoining numbers to mine (JF1CX3534NH108228) were. Carfax reports that 8227 and 8229 are invalid numbers.
Anybody know what Subaru's VIN scheme is/was? Also, did they start over at 0058 (or?) with each model year?
